Los Angles, California (February 3, 2024) — After the change that took place in the competition that was run today and not on Sunday at the Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California, contrary to what had been established at the beginning in the sense that it would be NASCAR Mexico that would open the program, it was the turn of the Mexican series to close it.

The Quaker State driver, Daniel Suarez, who had started from third position and who could not participate in the NASCAR Cup because he did not qualify, took revenge in NASCAR Mexico and took a victory that was applauded by the Latinos who gathered at the Coliseum.

“I have a bittersweet taste for what happened to me in the NASCAR Cup, but I’m happy that I crossed the finish line first in this race. I pushed at the end and with about 20 laps to go I knew that if I didn’t make any mistakes, I was going to take the win,” Daniel said.

The best competition since returning to NMS was given; Santiago Tovar de Canel’s, who crossed the finish line in second position: “It is something that I will never forget because being among the best in a venue like the Memorial Coliseum, has a very special value”.

The NASCAR Challenge champion, Alejandro de Alba de Alessandros, after a yellow flag began to press and when the checkered flag fell, he was in third position.

Abraham Calderón of Commscope-Telcel, who was the leader for most of the competition, and Rubén García Jr. of Canel’s, who was also leading the group, lost the possibility of triumph due to incidents that caused them to enter the pits.

Although the race was run today and not on Sunday, February 4 as scheduled due to the weather conditions that were announced to exist in Los Angeles, there was a considerable amount of spectators in the grandstands.

The NASCAR Mexico podium was enlivened by Mexican music, which drew applause from the Mexicans who were in the Coliseum, whom Daniel also thanked for their presence.

Jimmy Morales, Director of NASCAR Mexico, said that today the quality of the Mexican drivers was demonstrated, as well as the competitiveness that exists in the series.
