DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 8, 2010) – The promoters of a signature NASCAR Whelen All-American Series track have been named as the best in the nation for 2010.
By vote of weekly short-track operators across the United States, the Nuckles family and Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway received the prestigious 25th annual Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Monday morning. The award is a highlight of the annual Racing Promotion Monthly workshops, held annually in Daytona Beach during Speedweeks.
Four generations of the family have operated the .333-mile circular paved oval, which opens for its 63rd season on April 10. Known as one of the Buckeye State’s premier facilities, Columbus Motor Speedway has been part of the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series since 1989.

Barberville, FL- (February 7, 2010) -- Heading into the 2010 season, 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser said that he felt better than he had in two or three years, after having off-season surgery to fix a bulging disc in his neck. He started the season off very strong and was in contention for wins in each of the first three races of the 39th Annual Florida DIRTcar Nationals by University of Northwestern Ohio at Volusia Speedway. Kinser sealed the deal on Sunday night, picking up his first win of the season and his first victory since joining Tony Stewart Racing.

Danica Patrick will enter Saturday's Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway, a source close to the situation told ESPN.com on Sunday. The IndyCar Series star who is beginning the transition to NASCAR made the decision after finishing sixth in Saturday's ARCA debut at DIS. An official announcement will be made on Monday. Patrick will be guaranteed a spot in the field using the points Brad Keselowski accumulated in the #88 for JR Motorsports last season. Patrick's biggest reservation about Daytona was keeping JR Motorsports teammate Kelly Bires out of the event and perhaps costing a driver competing for the championship valuable points if she makes a mistake.(ESPN.com)
Hopes to announce new sponsor before Friday's opener

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 7, 2010) -- New Camping World Truck Series owner Kyle Busch plans to race two trucks for the full 2010 season, which begins Friday at Daytona International Speedway, despite losing his truck's primary sponsor on Thursday.
"We're good for Daytona, but we've got nothing else," Busch said. "We're running full-time [and] I will definitely run every race this year, with myself and Brian Ickler [driving]."
At Daytona for Saturday night's Budweiser Shootout, Busch said he would announce a sponsor for Friday's NextEra Energy 250 "by Monday or Tuesday."
Denver, CO. (February 7, 2010) - The Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Association (RMMRA) held a general membership at USA Engine Performance on Saturday with a great turnout.
Greg Schaefer, the new RMMRA President, talked about the 2010 schedule, the new web site, sponsorship, and proposed rules changes and a new mandatory rule for the season. The proposed rules were Weight Rule (1050 with driver), Points Schedule and a Pill Draw Fee. After discussion on the proposed rules changes, the participating members voted yes on all three proposed rule.
A new mandatory rule will be in effect for the 2010 season. All drivers will have a Raceceiver by May 8 at I-76 Speedway in Ft. Morgan, CO and will be used at all race events. If you have any questions, please contact Greg Schaefer at 720-273-1574 or Keith Rauch at 720-252-4103.
Ft. Morgan, Colorado (February 7, 2010) – Track Officials were forced to postpone the Colorado Winter Series race scheduled for the I-76 Speedway today. Bitterly cold temperatures and the forecast of snow making travel in the area hazardous prompted the postponement. With the Daytona 500 scheduled for next weekend, on Valentines Day, the speedway management opted to move the race two weeks ahead to February 21, 2010.
The schedule will remain the same with the pit gates opening at 10AM and the racing getting underway at Noon. The February race is the fourth of the five races Colorado Winter Series at the I-76 Speedway.

On Top Again: Donny Schatz Wins 2010 World of Outlaws Season Opener
Barberville, FL - February 6, 2010-Donny Schatz wrapped up 2009 standing on top of the podium after claiming his fourth consecutive World of Outlaws title, and he began the 2010 season on top again taking the win on Saturday night in the season opening 39th Annual Florida DIRTcar Nationals by University of Northwestern Ohio at Volusia Speedway Park.
Schatz lined up third in the Armor All J&J and quickly moved into second and then battled Tim Shaffer and led the first lap, before the latter retook the top spot on the second circuit. Schatz tracked Shaffer back down in lapped traffic and drove under him on the 12th lap in turn one to take the lead. He would lead the remainder of the 30-lapper, including after two double file restarts to score the win over Joey Saldana and Steve Kinser.

Harvick Wins Back-To-Back Budweiser Shootout In Exciting Finish
DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. (Feb. 6, 2010) - The Budweiser Shootout has the proper name.... a Shootout.... anybody's race.... A no-holds-barred, fistfight with stock cars..... NASCAR stock cars.

After a caution fell with just six laps remaining, the second of the race for Michael Waltrip, who was turned sideways by Ryan Newman, the stage was set for a spectacular finish and America's best professional race drivers didn't disappoint a huge crowd.
