Opening with a Bang: Joey Saldana Wins First Night of Kasey’s King of Bulls Gap Presented By Budweiser
Bulls Gap, TN--March 19, 2010--Joey Saldana isn't quite sure what it is about Volunteer Speedway in Bull Gap, Tenn., but every time he has raced at the blazing fast ultra high-banked four-tenths-mile he has been in contention for a win. He extended that streak on Friday as he opened Kasey's King of Bulls Gap Presented By Budweiser on Friday night with a victory.
Saldana picked up his second consecutive win with the World of Outlaws at Volunteer Speedway and the third victory of his career at the track in the event which was co-sanctioned with the All Star Circuit of Champions. Saldana was challenged throughout the race by 20-time World of Outlaws champion Steve Kinser and used a strong restart with five laps remaining to seal the win.
"It feels good to win again," said Saldana. "Track position was key for me tonight. I... [Read More]

BRISTOL, Tenn. (March 20, 2010) — It wasn't a hauler chat with NASCAR that kept Brad Keselowski from knocking Justin Allgaier out of the way in the closing laps of Saturday's Scotts Turf Builder 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Instead, Keselowski, the polesitter, took one for the company—Penske Racing—as Allgaier, his teammate, led all 27 laps of the final green-flag run to notch his first NASCAR Nationwide Series victory.
The win came approximately eight hours after Keselowski, team owner Roger Penske, Carl Edwards and his team owner, Jack Roush, met with... [Read More]

Bristol TN (March 19, 2010) -- Joey Logano led Friday's practice session, increased his speed to 124.630 mph during qualifying and earned the pole for Sunday's Food City 500 at Bristol.
Bristol Tenn. (March 19, 2010) -- NASCAR's two most infamous combatants are headed for a meeting with a referee.
Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski, whose running feud turned into a national story two weekends ago when the former sent the latter airborne with a retaliatory tap at Atlanta, will meet with NASCAR brass Saturday morning at Bristol Motor Speedway in an attempt to finally bring an end to the hard feelings that have brewed between the two. NASCAR president Mike Helton, vice president for competition Robin Pemberton and Sprint Cup director John Darby are expected to attend along with the two drivers.
"I expect they'll come out of there understanding they're not in charge and NASCAR is, and if they continue, NASCAR will remind them in a way they won't soon forget that they are in charge," said Jeff Burton, a former... [Read More]
Mounting Snow and Freezing Temperatures Forces Cancellation
Dacono, Colorado (March 19, 2010) -- Colorado National Speedway has been forced to cancel the practice and inspections session that was scheduled for tomorrow (March 20, 2010). Mounting snow depths and freezing temperatures are rendering the facility in an unusable condition for this weekend’s activity. Speedway officials regret being forced to make this decision but the weather leaves them with no other options for this weekend.
The cancellation will leave two more weekends (March 27 and April 3, 2010) for practice and inspections before the NASCAR Whelen All American Series gets under way on April 10, 2010 at Colorado National Speedway.
Just a reminder that all of the April races will start at 5PM, one hour earlier than the normal 6PM starting time. (Selected qualifying races will be at 4PM)
Dacono, Colorado (March 18, 2010) – Officials at Colorado National Speedway have been swamped with calls today inquiring about the season opening Hot Lap session scheduled for Saturday March 20. With the Friday and Saturday weather forecast calling for snow and near freezing temperatures many people are wondering if the speedway will be cancelling the practice and inspection session.
I spoke with track officials today and they to are wondering if the weather will force a change in the scheduled events. They are hopeful that the forecast will change as the weekend nears and that they can get this session in. It is not looking good but they going to wait until at least Friday morning to make a decision about the weekend.
I will have the information posted on Big West Racing as soon as the decision is made.
