That is one of my all time favorite cars. I loved the car, but used to boo the heck out of Rick when he was in it. I was only about 10 years old, just didn't know any better, everyone else was, so i thought that you were supposed to !!!

This racecar with Rick Carelli driving it won almost as many races as the Black #19 of Pachello's and I think it was one the most sucessful cars in Colorado history.

I think the car he drove the last year of racing at Lakeside, "the X" (6x) is what they called it, won everytime it ran that season, Rick won both main's on the last night of racing at Lakeside, a track he owned for about 10 years, does anyone know how many track championships Carelli won at Lakeside

Rick won six championships at Lakeside: '78 and '84-88 inclusive. His first was driving Al Starr's green #7 and the rest were in the red #6. As good, and as dominant as Rick was, the Pachello car probably won more main events than Rick's. The Pachello #19 won 14 championships, 7 with Don Wilson, 3 with Jack Graham, three with Terry Daniels and one (the first) with Jim Malloy. That's a LOT of main wins!
