The racing season for Legends and Bandoleros came to an end October 6th. The Bandolero cars were formed this season and raced with the Legend cars at twenty one of their scheduled races. This class of racing was opened to new drivers in Bandoleros and had an age restriction with it. The Bandolero cars are part of U.S. Legend Cars. They are built in Harrisburg, NC and is a spec class of racing. The RMLRA champions in the Bandolero class were Lillian McAfee of Thornton in the Outlaw class and Brody Moore of Dillon in the Bandit class. Both of the drivers raced at Colorado National Speedway, Big Country Speedway, Hwy 92 Raceway Park and I25 Speedway. Brody Moore led all drivers this season attending all twenty-three races.
In the Legends class Wayne Barlock Jr won his third RMLRA championship this year with Nick Cooper finishing second. Both these drivers were former RMLRA Champions. Travis Roe started all thirty-three main events.
The Bandolero class had a total of twenty-six cars racing this season. Legend race cars had a total of fifty-five cars accumulate points with the RMLRA standings. Several cars did not race this season.
While the season has ended many Legend cars will travel to the Asphalt Nationals in Las Vegas October 25-27. Bandolero cars will also race several times at The Bullring.
One more thing to mention to anyone looking to race either of these cars, the dealer in Denver is Mike Leary at Leary Racing Products. You will need an INEX membership to race these cars. Be sure to contact someone for a number on your car. We would like you to become a member of the RMLRA and support the Legend and Bandolero racing at the tracks in Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska.
