Read the thread guys...this is a question about radios NOT mirrors. Nobody wants mirrors.

Your right but some view mirrors and radios the same. They dont see the good in radios, or the price is making the decision for them.

That's true Magoo. Most people have just heard stories about radios, they have never used them. It's not like they're going to let us run them I just wanted DRIVERS' opinions on what they thought about the idea. Personally I think they would be of a great help to us. There is no other division that has as much going on in a race as the F-8 cars. They are not for the X, if you can't watch the X and race...you have no business being out there. They would help out more in knowing if there is someone stalled close to or in the X that you didn't see in the corner...where a crash might be....a dead car...it would really help in communicating with the pit crew if there is a problem. That's my opinion.

Yes but some of the figure-8 guys dont have crew so can you see me and my dad trying to have radios. I just dont like radios.

Daniel, are you trying to tell me that with all of the Martinezs' running around that you couldn't find two to put on a headset and watch you race? I find that really hard to belive. If you don't like them that's one thing, but to just down-talk them because you don't think you could use them....not cool.

No...I'm not saying that I NEED one, but I can gaurantee you, if I would've had a radio at Erie....I never would have hit Harry Jr. It's things like that, that you need to look at. I don't need a radio to know who is around me. #1 I can hear them and #2 the board generally tells me who it is. It is purely a safety factor. Plus if you've got something wrong, the crew knows before you get there and they are ready to fix the problem.

#5. I like Crashs it makes it funer to watch for the fans thats why they come to see and I dont Have the money for radios and if I had the money I wood buy tiers I ran the same sit for the hole year. I got
new tires the last race at I-25 SPEEDWAY and I did good but I wood
hit the wall one more time before I buy radios. if you want radios buy a latemodel thanks and have a nice day

Daniel crashes will happen but we dont always see stuff in the way. Remember the fans are not excited to see 40 laps of caution either. Lineups could be done faster, and repairs could be quicker if something does happen. 20 or 30 seconds could mean getting on the track to finish or watch the race from the back chute. safety is involved also if someone runs over a bumper, driveshaft etc it could come through a window and hurt someone. wierd things happen in racing but if it could be avoided by a radio then that is the way it is.
dont know if we will be able to use radios but I think its a good idea..

That's the mentality that gets the F-8's such a bad wrap. If you don't want safety and like to crash and tear up your equip. then go race econos. We are a "real" division, and most of us have real race cars. I don't think we are NASCAR, and don't want to be. If you want to have a demo derby go race somewhere else. You really need to check your attitude about what you are doing. Yeah, there is going to be hits in the X and crashes, that comes with the territory. You've made your view on this subject more than clear. You don't want a radio....don't have one, it's very simple.
