That will be great for the touring professionals of USLMA, the can race at Gering Nebraska on July 3 and then take the short drive to Dacono for the July 4 100 lapper at CNS. With a $15,000 + purse and $2,200 to win it could be a hugh holiday event for the Late Models.

Leave it to Mike Warren to promote a hugh weekend for the area Late Models.

was told by cns management that no uslma cars were welcomed at cns, due to conflict of engine rules and track width.

As the CNS Late Models have to conform to the USLMA rules the USLMA Late Models would have to conform to the CNS rules to run at CNS.

It's just an option if they want to run they will and if they don't they won't.

Congrats to Hwy 92 Raceway Park! Should be a great event for both them and the USLMA's.

very true, the track width rule isnt a big deal, but the motor rule for us and many of the other uslma cars isnt possible unless we had a tour or spec motor.

Your two posts were a surprise to me so I contacted Scott Backman at CNS and he directed me to this post on the CNS website.

Rules Amendment for USLMA legal engines participating in 2010 CNS Late Model events.

CNS Management has determined that due to the increasing performance of engines built solely for use in USLMA competition the following rules amendment is effective immediately.

Competitors that choose to utilize the USLMA legal engine in CNS competition in 2010 will only be allowed to participate in a maximum of five events. An event will be defined as a car, driver or team that practices and competes for a position in a 2010 CNS Late Model A-feature event. The USLMA legal engine will not be legal for participation in the 2010 Challenge Cup event. All competitors utilizing USLMA legal engines will be required to disclose to the Race Director the use of the USLMA legal engine and adhere to all other 2010 CNS Late Model rules including a 50 pound weight penalty. In addition, all competitors that choose to participate with a USLMA legal engine will not be awarded CNS championship points.

CNS Management reserves the right to further assess and / or adjust rules pertaining to the utilization of USLMA legal engines in regular CNS Late Model competition based on event results.

Apparently some of those CNS boys found something in the USLMA rules that they might have used to their advantage. Don’t know what it was, but that is what I was told.

All the more reason for EVERYONE to adopt the same AFFORDABLE rules package instead of this three series three rule philosophy crap. There is only one package that is affordable around here (ASA at I-25).
