My Thoughts on the 32nd Annual Midget Nationals in Belleville Kansas
OK, so I just got back from Belleville and I thought I would catalog my thoughts about this years event.
In no particular order.... - Henry Clarke has a future in midget racing. Keep an eye out for him. - The rain in Kansas can be severe ![]() - Expensive midget engines should be more reliable ![]() - Tony Rossi should have changed his tires when he had the chance ![]() - Winged sprint cars are rocket fast but boring as can be - The Boyer museum is AWESOME - Kansas farmers know well ahead of everyone else when the big rain is about to come - Brian Clausen, Brad Sweet, Chad Boat, Brad Kuhn know their way around the high banks - Car counts suffer in a bad economy but Belleville is still worth the price of admission - Brad Loyet get's upside down every time I see him - Hoosier tires must be made out of Silly Puddy - The Belleville track prep team deserves kudos - Church burgers and pie are still yummy after all these years ![]() - USAC announcers don't know much about midget racing outside of USAC ![]() - Midgets are still one of the most interesting divisions due to their diverse engine options - Hanging out with my boys and my dad is the best thing in the world! Thanks Belleville! I will be back next year.

Webbie, just being at a race in Belleville is a treat. Folks who haven't been there have no idea do they?? It's a must seefor any race fan be they asphalt or dirt. The atmosphere there is still small town county and hanging out with your family is the in thing to do. Memories...

Just got back from the Belleville Nationals after visiting family in Nebraska. It was a great weekend in Belleville. The luncheon on Thursday for the new inductees in the Hall of Fame was great. A good time to visit with old friends and make new. Andy Eatwell and his wife Katherine were there from Phoenix. Andy accepted the plaque for his father John Eatwell. Curt Stockwell, also from Denver was an inductee and Gene Pastor, one of his drivers, accepted his plaque for Curt's daughter Doris. The hamburgers and pies from the Methodist booth were great as always. The meat back there is just better. Looking forward to the 33rd Nationals in 2010.
