Kurt Busch to stay in the 51
Statement From Phoenix Racing regarding Kurt Busch and the #51 Chevy: Below is a statement from James Finch, owner of Phoenix Racing, regarding Kurt Busch and the #51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet. "We have met with Kurt. At the end of the day, we are racers so we're going racing together with Kurt and the #51 Phoenix Racing Chevrolet. We know adjustments have to be made but how we fix that is between Kurt and myself. We're going to go to the track, work hard, race hard and work on trying to attract a sponsor and we're going to do that together."(Phoenix Racing)(6-12-2012)

What do you think of Finch's decision?
My feeling is, yes Im a Kurt fan and I think sitting him out a race made him realize NASCAR can go on without him. Look what its done to Kyle, you havent heard any bad things from him since the suspension. Im hoping it goes like this for Kurt as well.

I heard Finch say the Kurt has already wrecked 14 cars and it will likely cost his his ride as a lower budget team cannot afford to have this much damage caused by their driver who has not even sniffed a victory. Kurt can be a good driver but will cost you much more than he makes you and has not even brought any sponsors along either. Kick his sorry a$$ to the curb and try someone else, at least David did not crash and finished last week and did not crash!

Is Kurt trying too hard? Maybe. But would the team prosper with someone of lesser talent? Who knows. There's always a learning curve, there's always adjustment when going to a new team. The owner needs to make sure the whole team is on the same page regarding timelines, goals, etc. I've always liked Kurt as a driver and I'm sure it's pretty frustrating to him having to go to a lower tier team. Builds character.

I think that Kurt may have learned a lesson. He just needs to be careful about what he says. I agreed with what he told the reporter, just not the tone. I can only imagine what it would be like for ANY of the drivers to finish running 400-500 miles and having a microphone shoved in your face as soon as you get out of a car. I am sure that this weekend, now that Mr Finch is going to try and keep him out of the limelight, everyone will say he is stuck up or whatever because he will NOT talk, just like the media did to Kyle a couple of years back. Speaking of Kyle, since his suspension, just appears that NASCAR has taken the "Rowdy" out of him and he does not seem as personable, he is almost like a robot.
