Four days, a 1,000 miles of driving back and forth, some really great weather, a fantastic field of cars and drivers, and a great race track every night to race on, the King of America came to an end Saturday with Stormy Scott taking home the $15,000 and the crown as the king.
Early on it looked like Terry Phillips would be the royalty in the modified world of racing but fate did not take it that way, Phillips would drop out with trouble with his car after a yellow came out.
Scott would lead in a commanding way, some times with almost a straightaway over second place, in the later stags of the race with the field reduced to half of the starters Zack Vanderbeek had worked his way to second, John Teesch coming from 21st to third were both hoping for a yellow flag and they got it with 5 laps to go.
I will not spoil the finish for you but it is good so sit down and get a drink and a sandwich and take in the King of America by the USTMTS . Enjoy.
