Harvick hands out a whooping at Martinsville speedway

Kevin Harvick put an old school whippin on the field in Saturday's Kroger 250 at Martinsville Speedway.

After winning the pole Harvick would only relinquish the lead for two laps during pit stops, and see the checkers fly with a .953 second lead over second place finisher TY Dillon.

"Nine times out of 10, when you have trucks like this, or cars, and you have a day like that where you think you're by far the fastest, usually they never work out," Harvick said, "so today was a special day to win the pole, lead the most laps and win the race.

Harvick was so dominant that, shortly after a restart on lap 165, he asked his spotter to relay a message to Dillon's team. Harvick wanted Dillon to know that he was running at about 80 percent of his truck's potential. "Tell him not to burn his stuff up [trying to catch us]," Harvick said.
