Matt Hawkins has passed away at the age of 21 in his home state of Georgia.

Matt will be remembered on the track for being the only driver to ever win in the ARCA RE/MAX Series and USAR Pro Cup Series in his first starts. Off the track, he was known as a exceptionally kind, polite and personable young man. Matt will be missed greatly by his family, friends and the racing community.

For those who don't know, Matt was an ARCA driver that just recently finished 34th in the season opening ARCA race at Daytona and was the Iowa ARCA race winner last season. My heart and prayers go out to the Hawkins family, no one should ever go out that way. RIP Matt Hawkins...

I just heard that too, it's weird because the first report said home break-in. Anyway, my original post has been updated.

We all know that people sometimes do things that can't be explained when they're drinking. If anybody says they've never done something while drinking and regretted it the next day, they're lying.

Even if you don't drink, you've been around people that were drinking have and witnessed the things that people are capable of doing under the influence of alcohol. The only difference is most are still here to regret those things.
