Question Super stock parts availability

With parts becoming harder to come by for the older cars such as front bumpers for monte carlos, what are we supposed to do when we have cars to build and cant find parts and the track will not allow aftermarket or tube parts , IE: front bumpers for monte carlos ? cant find em or when you do they are at a premium. just wondering, race cars or fishing boat ?

Jim I feel your pain.I think if you are going to be a super stock racer, you need to have a good supply of parts cars out back. I used to have a good supply out back but its getting weeded out pretty fast. I think your going to see the sheet metal people building more door and 1/4 panel skins. I think that the high price of scrap and cash for clunkers killed this class. Why did we have cash for clunkers anyway? Still its going to take alot of time at the junkyard looking for parts. This is a fun class and it should not die. I'm going to have a cold beer and go inventory my junkers out back. KRS.

I race mods and trucks but kris will run a ss next year. i just sold a 87 super sport builder (street car) for 4 grand so it would be foolish to tear them apart to make into a race car. you can buy most sheet metal/chassis parts but the inner bumper renforcements (bumpers) are rare now. so after talking to the track no tube bumpers in the near future. My question here is where does this division end up in a few years and what are you guys doing for theese parts ?

I saw a modified on racing junk that was from a 1998 crown victoria. Didnt know any sanctions allow that but, that'd be good if we stepped out the 70's

Not sure if the rules up there allow it, but there was a guy down here at I-25 that ran a early 90s caprice in the street stock class. Seemed to work pretty well, as the 1st week out he won the dash and the main...

Anybody know where my old Caprice is? It won back to back CNS titles got sold and disapeared? Doesn't make much sense, if it was sold at the end of the 06 season it would be out dated and should be less expensive for someone

Lance, that was the car your score the 9 in the Vault Meter rating with after launching that axle back in 04 or 05 correct? I think Mike Cox had it, then sold it to Van Werner. Van was going to run CNS since RMNS closed, and never showed up.....Last I heard, the car is still sitting in his shop.
