Dacono, Colorado (August 6, 2011) -- Kyle Ray driving the #58 Legend won his first feature of the season at Colorado National Speedway Saturday night. The twenty-five lap feature had twenty-one cars start and the racing was very good. Ray, Eggleston, Gallegos and Clegg were battling for the lead throughout the race. A caution flag came out on lap sixteen as Eggleston's car came to a stop in turn four. A broken bolt in the rear of the car ended his evening. At the other end of the track Mike Gallegos pulled off the track with engine problems after leading early in the race. Kyle Clegg chased Ray after the restart but could not catch leader Kyle Ray. Scott Griffith of Colorado Springs finished third and Chris Simons-Cooper just edged Scotty Scott for fourth at the finish line.
With the win Kyle Ray leads Sccotty Scott by fourteen points in the RMLRA chase for the points championship. Kyle Clegg leads Kyle Ray by twelve points in the points race for the Legends at Colorado National Speedway.
Terry Plummer made his 2011 debut Saturday night after purchasing the car of Tyler Chrissinger. Terry a former RMLRA and track champion at CNS struggled with the handling of the car but finished sixth in the feature. The number fourteen car will add another front runner as soon as he gets it set up to run fast.
The RMLRA is off for two weeks and will return to CNS August 27. Several cars have been damaged this season and are being repaired. Hopefully they will be back on the track soon.
