Does NASCAR Have A New Bad Boy?

Cousin Carl is at it again.

Two weeks ago Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski got into yet another on track incident resulting in Keselowski flipping his Penske Dodge into the front straight away wall. The resulting penalty for that incident was three weeks probation for Edwards that came down last week.

Today Edwards gave a verbal blast about current Sprint Cup Series point’s leader Kevin Harvick with a comment that "I have absolutely no respect for Kevin Harvick," he said before Friday's first practice at Bristol Motor Speedway. "I think he's a bad person. That's my opinion. I've told him. We've had our deal before and his actions through that interaction were so devious and underhanded and cowardly that, it's like; I just have no respect for him.

"When people like that question me, it makes me feel better because if those people were lined up patting me on the back I'd be on the wrong side of what's right and wrong. And I truly believe that."

Edwards and Harvick got into a physical confrontation in 2008 at Charlotte Motor Speedway that ended with one of Harvick's friends dragging Edwards away in a headlock.

Harvick, upset because of an incident that happened a week earlier at Talladega Superspeedway, accused Edwards of being a "pansy" for racing near the back of the pack all day and then causing a major wreck.

Some have said that NASCAR needed some rivalries to spur fan interest and it certainly looks as if Carl is trying to help out. That brings us to the question about the new Carl Edwards image.

Is Carl Edwards still the All American boy next door wearing the white hat or has be become NASCAR’s bad boy wearing the black hat?

Vote and tell us what you think.

Bad boys? If those guys (multi millionairs) are bad boys we have come a long way. Lets see punches fly instead of using your car before we start labeling bad boys. Gordons shove of Kenseth was the worst we have seen from the current class of drivers, let see some toe to toe in this civilized arena, otherwise it is just a ploy for Nascar to get some more veiwers. I would take Carl over Biffle in an arm wrestling match. jmo

They need a penalty box, ala NHL hockey. After the race, fight whoever you want, it will be broken up only when it goes to the ground, and then each guy has to sit in the box for 2 minutes. 5 minute major if it's a really good fight. Then we're done.

Pull'em off the track, get'em out of their cars and helmets and all that hardware, then put'em in a boxing ring, where all the fans can see, Put the gloves on'em and let'em beat the living crap out of each other!!.. get that crap off the track before something really tragic happens. Yeah..It's nice to see some rivalry's and all that, but this B.S. of using your race car to give a little payback just doesn't cut it with me. Probation is just a basic slap on the wrist... Edwards and Keselowski both need to be sat down for a race or 2. NASCAR is doing a good thing about backing off a little bit with the on track bumping and the let'em run attitude, but they do need to be sure and step up strong and be a bit more heavy handed in dishing out any punishment to those that take it a bit too far!! Hopefully with the change to the old spoiler, it will help stabalize the cars better during a spin and we won't see any of this airborne business. Once again, It's all just my opinion and you all are welcome to brow beat me all you want!

Cousin Carl would kick Bad Brad's A$$ any day and if he had taken out or wrecked my driver four times like he has Carl you can bet the same thing would have happened or I would have a new driver. What goes around comes back around and karma is a *****...
