Schrader Muscles To Wednesday Night Win

Schrader on Bumper Streak

POST FALLS, IDAHO - April 30, 2009 - Joel Schrader muscled his trash can themed Bump to Pass car to win number four during week four of Wednesday Night Fever at Stateline Speedway. Schrader and car owner Vern Dorsey of Spokane remain undefeated in the division.

Schrader took the lead from dash winner Travis Cox at a lap seven double file race reset to take the win in the main event. Yvonne Lifsey finished second followed by Noah Hamlin and "Superbird" driver Len Clother.

Bruce Garber navigated through a tough early race caution fest to take the 30-lap main event in the Fever 4's over fast time driver Rich Hatton. Justin Lovitt took a strong third with dash winner KC Garber and Chris Kellogg rounding out the top five.

The event was red flagged on lap-8 when Corey Husk and heat winner Terry Auckerman collided hard in the backstretch. Chris McIlveen won a heat.

Joey Murfin, Tim Benn, and Scott Rupert picked up feature wins in the Road Runners. Benn and Rupert have three victories so far this season. Other Road Runner winners included Steve Murfin, Eric Harris, Mike Hall, and Jason Thomas.

Saturday the late models of the ICAR Racing Series take to the track along with Outlaw Compacts and Hobby cars. Events start a new start time of 6pm. General admission is $10 for adults; kids under six are free.

The wild, wacky, unpredictable action of Wednesday Night Fever continues every Wednesday at 6pm with the cars and superstars of the Road Runners, Fever 4's, plus the wild and crazy Bump to Pass division. Adults are just $5.75; kids under the age of nine accompanied by adults are free.

Berry Optimistic for 2009 Season

Spokane, WA (April 30) – The 2009 season for the B&B Motorsports team with driver Tony Berry will kick off Saturday night, May 2nd at the fourth annual Cast Iron Nationals sprint car event at Ephrata Raceway Park in Ephrata, WA. This premier event will bring competitors together from at least four different sprint car associations from around the Northwest and Canada to one of the most storied quarter mile ovals in the area.

The event will also mark the debut of a new car for Berry and team in the form of a Lejeune Performance pavement car, but it will still don the familiar #53. "We are all very excited about putting this new car on the track," stated Berry. "The Lejeune name has performed at a very high level for a long time and we are very optimistic about what this year can bring."

The 2007 Inland Northwest Sprint Car Association (INSCA) Champion, Berry, will again compete at select INSCA events in 2009 in their existing Michael Bartle owned car as well as running some ASA/NSRA events in the Lejeune with a potential foray into the WESCO series towards the end of the year.

On the B&B 2009 schedule Berry had this to share, "The past several years we have run many different forms of cars: sprint cars, midgets and late models. As of right now it appears we will be focused on the sprinters for 2009, but I wouldn’t rule out potential races in other types of vehicles as the year progresses. Currently, our schedule for 2009 is highlighted by some special events and the desire to compete at some different tracks this year. We wanted to expose our sponsors, The Country Place, Kodiakwebracing.com, Sir Speedy Printing, Ed Nereaux Racing Engines, Moca Creations, Longacre Racing Products and ACRAnet to some different venues in 2009."

Perhaps the most exciting event on the 2009 schedule for Berry is the ASA/NSRA event planned for September 12th. The Rory Price Memorial event is on the 5/8th’s of a mile oval at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA and is Berry’s 'home track' having grown up in Redmond, WA. "I've never driven a sprint car there, but I am really looking forward to it based on our experience at Spokane County Raceway’s half-mile. I have a lot of positive memories going to Monroe every weekend when I was younger to watch the NSRA cars and whole generation of late model and tour drivers – that will definitely be the highlight of the season for me," commented the 25-year old.

The 2009 B&B Motorsports team consists of Crew Chief Loren Bartle, co-owner Michael Bartle, Kily Fleming and Bob and Jerry Records. Special thanks go out to the parents, siblings and wives that help support and put up with our sport of choice.
